Pembrokeshire

Pembrokeshire is a county of outstanding and unparalleled natural beauty. A largely rural area, the county retains a relaxed way of life and offers something to suit everyone’s tastes.

Pembrokeshire Coast National Park was Wales’ first national park and exists to protect the county’s unspoilt coastline. The south of the county boasts white sand beaches and sweeping sand dunes while dramatic sea cliffs and scenic bays make up the county’s northern coasts.

Pembrokeshire is a walkers’ paradise. The coast path, which is always kept in pristine condition by the national park, provides hundreds of miles of walking opportunity. Whether your after a gentle stroll along Whitesands Beach, or a week-long hike it’s right on your doorstep, and a watering hole to quench your thirst is never far away.

The area of North Pembrokeshire around Treiago Farm has some of the most beautiful beaches in the UK. The blue-flagged Whitesands Bay is a popular family beach because of its safe swimming and clean white sand. It is also regarded as one of Wales’ top surf-spots and attracts surfers from all over Britain. Look a little harder and discover some of the many other secluded beaches and harbours that punctuate the coastline.

The nearby city of St Davids offers lots to do and see. Explore the famous 12th century cathedral and ruined Bishops Palace, peruse the town’s art galleries and shops or wonder down to the birthplace of St David at St Nons. The town is also home to a variety of coffee houses, restaurants and pubs to suit all pallets and wallets.

Treiago Farm itself sits on the “Puffin Shuttle” bus route from St Davids to Porthgain, a picturesque harbour village home to the flagship pub “The Sloop Inn” and the award-winning fish restaurant “The Shed”.

For the wildlife enthusiast the Dowrog Common (Site of Scientific Interest) which borders Treiago Farm boasts an array of birdlife, rare butterflies and insects. Animal lovers and adrenaline junkies alike will enjoy the various boat trips which go around Ramsey Island, just off the St Davids coast. The island is an RSPB sanctuary home to as stunning array of sea birds and there are also seals and porpoise to be seen.

There is also canoeing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, sea and freshwater fishing, golf and horse riding all within a few miles.
